Last night I sent you a text: Rie, hope ya have some fun this weekend. Am going to send an email with more info about my Dad.
I read your reply this afternoon: Ah, I see. Thanks for letting me know :)
Folks, the email to Lucy Marie included a picture of my Dad winning a timber race in Richmond, VA. called the “Deep Run Hunt Cup” on April 1, 1950 aboard a horse named Silver Duck owned by Mrs. Beverly Bryant. Rie, I hope you noticed the winning time was a “new course record”. In the win picture the jockey or rider is Bobby Motch and Padre is proud of the Fact – I was often called Little Bobby as a youngster.
Mr. Donald Robertson MacBain Motch was born on April 13, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio. Therefore he was 18 at the time, and a student at UVA, the University of Virginia, which was founded by The “Declaration of Independence” writer and future President, Sir Thomas Jefferson.
Dad left UVA after his junior year to start his Professional riding career which only lasted 10 years; shortly after winning Working Hunter Champion honors aboard Isgilde at Madison Square Garden, NYC back in October 1962.
Shortly after, my father retired, however Mr. D. R. Motch certainly left his mark as he was truly a force to be reckoned with. Readers it was indeed both my Honor and Privilege to give His Acceptance Speech in September 1998 at the Virginia Horse Show Association’s annual banquet. (Sadly, my father passed away on January 18, 1964.)

Today is my son’s, Dr. William Edward Motch’s 35th birthday. My youngest, Donald Puzin Motch, was 26 on the 14th.
Yesterday Donald typed: I really appreciate you sending me this podcast episode, I want to go ahead and order one of Mr. Shipp’s books on Amazon. I’m thinking of ordering From the Company of Shadows. He was great at telling his end of experiences and I was hoping the episode was longer because he most definitely has much more that I’d like to hear.

I had never heard of Kevin Shipp before your email but I will have to look more into what he’s done and hear what he has to share. That was my favorite segment along with him explaining how evil and twisted the inner workings of the government REALLY is.
I’d like to watch more content like this, thank you for showing me this episode, Dad. It really is….. that good.
